How We Started – History of UITCT
1956 – 1970
The organization opened it’s doors in 1971 to meet the needs of the North Texas Native American Community. At that time, many tribal members were living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area primarily due to the Indian Relocation Act of 1956 (also known as Public Law 959 or the Adult Vocational Training Program).
